Fluorchem Announces new packaging for first quarter 2024
Effective January 1st 2024, we have re-branded our chlorine bleach product from the translucent bottles sold between 2022 and 2023 to a new opaque type.
These new containers will ensure your product lasts longer slowing the natural degradation process that occurs when chlorine bleach is exposed to UV light.
The price of Fluorchem Chlorine Bleach will not be increasing as a result of this change.
Why use bleach?
Bleach is a powerful disinfectant that has a diverse range of uses around the home and office that go beyond just laundry. Chlorine bleach can replace many other household cleaners such as mold and mildew removers as many of these products share the same active ingredient as bleach, sodium hypochlorite, why buy the same chemical in two different packages?
Chlorine bleach also has powerful antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, this is due the general reactivity of the hypochlorite molecule against organic compounds rather than the selective behavior of antibiotics. This feature can be useful when cleaning because bleach will remove all the unwanted organic matter from your surface, leaving nothing behind. This same property is what makes chlorine based bleach an effective weed killer in small areas like cracks in sidewalks or interlocking where the main goal is to remove all plants present. It is important to note, never to mix bleach with other cleaning products or weed killers because unintended chemical reactions can occur between the products resulting in an unexpected release of possibly hazardous fumes. This is the case with all chlorine based bleach products.
The large product volume of 4.0 litres which will last you longer, additionally, many best practice cleaning methods advise diluting bleach before using, by mixing it with portions of water. Doing this in applications that do not require full strength product makes your bleach container last longer because you are using less each time, combined with our competitive pricing and convenient online sale saving you trips to and from a store, this will save you money in the long term.
Using and storing bleach safely
Bleach is a great product to add to your laundry room, but like most other cleaning products, it should be kept out of reach of children, with the cap tightly closed. Keep bleach away from acid based products like household vinegar as if the two were to mix, an unwanted reaction could occur producing toxic gases. It is important to choose a cool, dark and dry place to store your bleach as both heat and light to decrease the amount of chlorine dissolved within solution, ultimately weakening the effectiveness of the product. Therefore, it is recommended to use the product within 6 months of the initial purchase date to ensure its cleaning properties will meet your expectations.
